Biogem scientific research center is located in Camporeale, a rural area near the town of Ariano Irpino, where the famous Constitution of Roger II was promulgated.
The town, with its approximately 22,000 inhabitants, is one of the largest centers in the southern Apennines, and is located on the border between two regions (Campania and Puglia) and three provinces (Avellino, Benevento, Foggia).
Ariano Irpino is the largest municipal territory in Campania, where important remnants of prehistoric and Roman settlement. The current town has developed on the medieval settlement.
There are several monuments of great historical and artistic interest, such as the late Romanesque cathedral and the Lombard-Norman-Aragonese castle, with a large green park.
From the castle and its park , at 800 meters alt., and from other ‘windows’ in the historic center, the landscape embraces a vast surrounding area, crowned by large mountain ranges.
Many rural areas are also valuable, characterized by an extraordinary variation of scenery (from small farms to farms and pastures of considerable extension). In recent years, the town, traditionally with an agricultural vocation, has also become a tourist destination appreciated by those who love nature, gastronomy and wine-tasting.
Biogem also participates in this development, with all our cultural activities where ideas and people circulate and contribute to the growth of the local communities.
